Being woken from your sleep by a smoke alarm or similar is not something most of us think about.
But what if you are deaf or hard of hearing and cannot hear emergency alarms in an emergency?
Deafgard is an alarm that you can see but more importantly feel when you are asleep as it has an intense vibrating pad that is placed under the pillow that will wake the heaviest of sleepers.
There are fire alarms you hear and those that you feel.
Deafgard has been specifically designed for the deaf and hard of hearing in fire and emergency situations.
As soon as your fire or smoke alarm sounds Deafgard will spring into action vibrating and displaying bright flashing LED lighting as well as LCD screen displaying “FIRE”. It is sure to wake even the soundest sleeper into action.
Wireless technology makes the device portable and adapts to your existing fire alarm system.
It is the ultimate protection for your loved ones who are deaf or hard of hearing from the elderly to children, Deafgard keeps them safe.
The unit will activate when it ‘hears’ 2.4 KHz of continuous sound over 75 decibels for approximately 15 seconds.
For residential use, a smoke alarm must be located within the bedroom where the Deafgard will be used. We strongly recommend interconnected smoke alarms for all dwellings as all alarms will activate when one detects smoke providing immediate notification to all occupants on activation.
Designed and tested AS1670 Alarm Standard.
